Maybelline Falsies Mascara

So not many of us knew it existed, but enough of us knew to ensure I couldnt get hold of it in my local boots or superdrug.Ladies Ladies 2010 is the year for sharing lol.
Theres not even an advert for this mascara, yet its flying off the shelves.

Maybelline never fail to amaze me when they decide to bring out a new mascara, whenever they do im always intrigued to try it.

What am I talking about some of you might be thinking, why Maybelline falsies mascara of course.

As you can see it basically looks like a purple version of the famous collosal mascara, but please dont be fooled into thinking they are the same,oh how the wand tells a different story.....

What Maybelline say "The Falsies Mascara delivers a false lash look; giving you a full set of voluminous, bold, fanned out lashes and the appearance of no gaps from any angle.

The Pro-Keratin and Fibre enriched formula is designed to deliver immediate results, distributing volume and visible intensity to your lashes. The patented ‘Spoon’ shaped brush helps fan lashes out."

What I say...
The wand is slightly curved and flattish (just making up words now) on one side, which allows you to coat every lash.

Please note:My eyelids are not this greasy LOL,this is what happens when you cream your face with Nivea in the morning, and I only realised it looked like this when I made the picture big, seriously weren't about to take another picture of my eye,we all know how annoying it is to get a picture that's half decent.....

Anyway,up top as you can see no mascara and I havnt curled them either, just so I could get a better idea of how good the finished result would be.

Im pretty happy,Its like collosal but it gives a much more length to the lashes. The formula is not thick and goopy, nor is it watery, its just right.Above is 2 light coats, and there's not a clump in sight as promised by Maybelline. My lashes also feel soft, they are not hard and crispy, which I must admit is a first for me when it comes to mascara.

I rushed to put this on in the morning,In fact I was half asleep when my buzzer went.Hurrah, things I had ordered finally arrived.I knew alot of people had been wondering about this so I slapped it on for that reason, and also the fact that I felt like being overly extra..

The right eye in this picture, gives you a nice idea of what effect this mascara gives,I would love to see what would happen after applying a good few coats.

I will definitely be purchasing this again once this one begins to run low.Its available from boots and superdrug and retails at £7.99

Have any of you tried this yet?

  5. I saw this in Superdrug on Friday and was intrigued. Have enough to last the whole year so I doubt I'll be picking it up any time soon despite really liking the look of the results! Lol!

  6. @ muhsine & jelly mix lol I only picked this up due to making my collosal last longer than it should have, realistically I could have saved myself some money, when I have a draw full of other mascaras lol

  12. Hi I have a question about this mascara, is it easy to take off. I have been having a real problem with mascaras at the moment, when-ever I try and remove it I lose a lot of eye-lashes. Its starting to upset me now, I am always gentle and use gentle eye make up removers. I also use mascaras for sensitive eyes. I am at a loss now so I was wondering if you can tell me if this mascara is easy to remove?
    Thanks, babes412@gmail.com

  13. @Kerr-bear

Its really easy to take off,and I just use johnsons facial wipes.I know what u mean about the whole lash thing,I had it at one stage too.Steer clear of waterproof mascara, they are really hard to remove.some mascara formulas are harsher than others, hence the lash loss.thats why I tend to stick with a mascara that agrees with me when I find it.When you remove ur mascara, let your eye make up remover soak your mascara for a minute or so b4 you wipe.Try not to grab the lashes and rub or pull,as tempting as it may be.also after you have removed your mascara, put a little Vaseline on your lashes to help strengthen them up and condition them.Hope this has helped.x

  15. thank u so much for reviewing this, i was totally curious!!!

i already have Colossal Volum'Express & Pulse Perfection...so i guess i'll wait till they finish

  16. i tried colossal but I didn't like it at all! And I was really hesitant to use the falsies but after so much advertisements and because
I liked the packaging I persuaded to buy it. And I'm really grateful for that!!
No other mascara gave so volume in my eyelashes, and it's the only mascara which
when I remove it I don't lose neither one of
    my eyelashes!

  17. im from the eastern side of the u.s. and falsies isnt available yet unfortunatly... hopefully within another week itll hit drugstores and food stores, cuz im low on my colossal.

  18. It's here on the (US) west coast - I'm (of course)a false eyelashes wearer, but am going to give this a try.

  19. @Kerr-bear, I use good ol' baby oil and a cotton ball to remove my eye makeup! I have tried multiple "eye makeup removers" and none work as well as baby oil!
I just bought this mascara today and must say I really like it!

  20. @Anonymous (12:57 post) - I absolutely HATED colossal too! It was so inky I literally couldn't put it on without getting it all over my face. And I didn't like the final turnout, anyway. Glad to hear Falsies are better because I REALLY REALLY can't wait to buy them!!

  21. I love Maybelline mascaras,my 2fave from them are Great lash and The Falsies. The falsies works well for me coz Im not a big fan of false eyelashes, afraid to stick my eyes with glue lol

    ReplyDelete
  22. does falsies flake off? i had colossal and it would end under my eyes after a couple of hours

    ReplyDelete
  23. @anon no it dsnt,u may want to try the waterproof collosal.x

  24. my girl freind love Mayballine products but i could not understand these products name.....

    ReplyDelete
  25. I've tried both Falsies Waterproof Mascara, Colossal Volume Waterproof as well as CG LashBlast Volume and am totally unimpressed with any of them for volumizing. They all provide length, but no more so than any other mascara when properly applied. I'm completely disappointed that I get virtually no volume from these pricier products...big let down for me.

  26. Im from the south (US!) and i just bought this mascara. I have naturally really long eyelashes but i love trying to make them longer, plus i do colorguard so i needed a really good mascara. I just bought this mascara and, I HATE IT! i dont know if i got a bad tube, or what, but it was all clumpy when i unscrewed it and looked at the brush and when i put it on it was very very very clumpy. And when i got home, I couldnt get it off my eye lashes! i was extremely excited about this product when i saw advertisements, but now, im not so sure. Im hoping i got a bad batch! Although i love the tube!

    ReplyDelete
  27. @anon sounds like you got a bad one, mine wasnt clumpy at all,and icould take it off with ease, just using a standard facial wipe.Maybe you should try and take it back.:-)

    ReplyDelete
  28. The "Falsies" mascara is the worst mascara I have ever bought. It is very flakey, clumpy, and does not complement the eyelashes at all. In fact it makes them look worse....Just a heads up if you have not tried it yet.

    ReplyDelete
  29. After I saw this advertising on tele i decided to go buy it and try it out, this the first maybelline mascara i've used, have yet to try the collosal!
I must say i do rather like this mascara =)
The thing i like most is the way, like you said it doesnt leave your eyelashes feeling crispy/hard, leaves them rather soft actually. I can touch my eyelashes without any temptation of picking it off lol
i have even slept with it on! After a night out being too tired to take my makeup off I woke up in the morning being pleasantly suprised to find non of it smeared on my pillow, also I agree taking it off is easy, doesnt make my eyelashes fall out too which i am concious about as i dont have very many as it is haha
However... i do think that for the price it should be 10ml or more, rather than its current 9ml tube, just my two cents.

  30. I have tried this mascara.. it is awful. It is really hard to get off. It clumps up and I have to use my fingers to pull it off my lashes. I am pulling out my lashes. All my other mascara have never done this. I am shocked at the reviews.

    ReplyDelete
  31. @anon why would you be shocked at a review?not everyones the same, what may not work for you, could work great for others. Its like me with the famous revlon colourstay foundation.I hate the stuff but a lot of people love it. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I also really like the look that the Falsies mascara gives me but found it very difficult to remove. It did NOT come off with just normal eye makeup remover even if I left it "soak" in for a while. I finally resorted to buying baby shampoo and putting it on a wet facecloth and wiped my eyes for a long long time to get it all removed.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've been curious about this product for so long! Your review has convinced me to purchase it. I like how it made your lashes longer and they don't look clumpy at all!

I found your blog by searching for Falsies on Google. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Toni Tralala ahh wow ;-) do let me know how you get on,collosal is also good.x

  35. I just purchased this a few days ago at the urging of my 26 year old daughter ( bought her one too ). I applied two coats and was thrilled at the results! I'm 50 yrs old and my lashes aren't nearly as thick as they used to be. The length that this added was amazing! Two coworkers mentioned that my eyes look "really pretty"! The removal was no worse than any other mascara I've tried ... I use a dab of my eye cream and just swipe it off with a cotton ball or tissue. I also have to comment that the price at Wal Mart was $6.99. Not bad at all! Try it and enjoy!

  36. This is by far the best mascara I've ever tried; and I've tried many. I was so shocked that my lashes were actually full, long, and had so much volume. Usually with other products I would get slight length but lack fullness. Finally a product that is what it is advertised to be. $5.00 well spent.

  37. Luv ya blog! I was wondering about this Mascara; just too addicted to the Loreal Volumnious, cant wait to try this out! thanks for the post! UR Beautiful, Fabulous, and Fierce!

  38. @Chanel aww thats so sweet,I need to try voluminous, will def pick that up next.x

  39. OMG... this mascara has awesome results, but horribly difficult to get off... comes off just a little, then the next time and next time it just seems as if your 2nd and 3rd, etc ... coating everytime, now just awful looking eyelashes. I'm now resorting to things like this for advice on how in the world to get it off. This mascara would be good for every now and then to go out. Thats about it!!! Definitely NOT for everyday :(

    ReplyDelete
  40. This mascara made my eyelashes fall out LIKE CRAZY. No I wasn't rubbing them, pulling on them or anything like that. I don't curl them AFTER i put on mascara and I remove my makeup every night. Seriously I lost half my lashes on one eye and about a quarter of them on the other!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I just bought this today for $6 and I absolutely did NOT expect to like it as much as I do. I will continue to use this product until it is no longer available. I mean come on! $6 bucks???? I've tried things for $14 that aren't nearly as good!

    ReplyDelete
  42. hate it. the waterproof tube is impossible to get off. ill stick with clinique. but if anyone is looking for a gentle and effective eye/makeup remover try Lush's ultrabland ah-mazing.

  43. I am totally in love with the Colossal mascara but man does this ones seem good as well. Maybe I will go ahead and give this a try. I'm a new follower :D

  44. I love the Falsies mascara so much I recommended it to my mother in law. Ive never had any problems some seem to have and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the brush. i shall be getting it again once my christmas Lancome mascara runs out.

  45. I haven't tried this yet but it looks really good

  46. I tried Falsies waterproof mascara cuz I'm older and don't have many lashes. I loved the after effect but hated the fact that I couldn't remove it with eyemake up remover or baby oil or any other known product to man. Is there a safe mascara remover on the market??? HELP!

    ReplyDelete
  47. @ anon I didnt use the waterproof one,I used the standard one. Why not give that a try and see how you go

  49. I bought this mascara in water proof and its kinda hard to take off. i use waterproof bc my mascara tends to smudge and i have very oily eyelids. whats a good make up remover/ good way to remove this mascara?

    1. I use raw coconut oil to remove my makeup. It removes even the toughest Japanese brand waterproof mascara plus it is the safest and easiest thing to use without having to tug on the skin. I do use a facial cleanser afterwards to get off the oily residue from the coconut oil. It is the only makeup remover that I do love.
